Jira SSO is unable to authenticate users after upgrading to atlassian-authentication-plugin-4.1.3.jar due to net.sf.ehcache.CacheException

      Issue Summary

      After the upgrade "SSO for Atlassian Server and Data Center" app to version 3.2.3 (atlassian-authentication-plugin-3.2.3.jar), 4.0.6 (atlassian-authentication-plugin-4.0.6.jar) or 4.1.3 (atlassian-authentication-plugin-4.1.3.jar) on a Jira DC instance (using Ehcache) new logins through SSO are no longer working and the users receive the following error:

      Unhandled exception occurred whilst decorating page
      com.atlassian.cache.CacheException: net.sf.ehcache.CacheException: You have configured the cache with a replication scheme that cannot properly support CAS operation guarantees.
      

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Start Jira DC in cluster mode
      2. Upgrade "SSO for Atlassian Server and Data Center" app to version 3.2.3 (atlassian-authentication-plugin-3.2.3.jar), 4.0.6 (atlassian-authentication-plugin-4.0.6.jar) or 4.1.3 (atlassian-authentication-plugin-4.1.3.jar)
      3. Try to login to Jira with SSO

      Expected Results

      Successful login through SSO.

      Actual Results

      Unable to login through SSO

      The below exception is thrown in the atlassian-jira.log file:

      Fix

      This issue has been fixed in a newer release of the SSO for Atlassian Server and Data Center app. Upgrade your version according to the following matrix:

      • Version 3.2.3 should be upgraded to 3.2.5
      • Version 4.0.6 should be upgraded to 4.0.8
      • Version 4.1.3 should be upgraded to 4.1.5

      It is advised to upgrade within the currently installed version line.
