Problem

While running the Jira Installer to perform an upgrade, the binary is hanging in step Extracting files.

The binary tries to change permissions at /var/atlassian/application-data/jira recursively (even the directory permission are already correct).

Some more details about the issue:

• The home directory is mounted locally (not using a NFS);
• There is no symbolic link in the home directory;
• A recursive chmod command running over /var/atlassian/application-data/jira which sizes ~60GB. The whole process takes more than 2h to finish.
