Using a complex JQL filter in the Issue Search screen in List View mode expands vertically with unused whitespace

Issue Summary

The Issue Seach screen does not expand to the right fully, leaving whitespace and taking up more vertical room than necessary. 

Steps to Reproduce

1. Click on Issues > Search for Issues. 
2. Click on the Change View icon and select List View.
3. Use a JQL filter that spans multiple lines.  

Expected Results

JQL search box expands horizontally as before. 

Actual Results

JQL search box does not expand all the way, forcing the list of issues down further on the screen.  See attached screenshot.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
