Jira doesn't accept urls with Umlaut characters present in it

      Issue Summary

      Adding a URL with umlaut present will throw error 'Invalid url'.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Add a custom field of URL field in a project
      2. Try to add a url with Umlaut present in it

      Expected Results

      Jira should be able to accept the url entered

      Actual Results

      Jira throws invalid url as shown in the attached screenshot

      Workaround

      Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
