Issue Summary
If there are huge number of groups (more than 1500) added to the "Application access" permission, the page Application Access becomes unresponsive
Steps to Reproduce
Pre-requisite: There should be more than 1500 groups in the Jira instance
- Add 1500 groups to the "Jira Software" Application Access
- Click on Cog Icon > Applications > Application Access
- The page will keep on loading and will give multiple errors (Attached herewith)
There are no traces of error in the logs related to the behavior
Heap size : 2GB
Expected Results
The page should load without any errors
Actual Results
The page never loads due to which new projects cannot be configured and application access can't be granted
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available

Do you mean when the number of groups that are given application access is over 1500?
With 8.5.4 Data Center we have a dozen AD groups given access, and thousands of AD groups available for choosing, and no problem
Yes, application access page become unresponsive when groups are added over 1500. We have got this issue in Jira DC version 8.2.3.
We don't have any issue with choosing option, because page itself was not loaded beyond certain number of groups.
Now, with this bug - we are totally blocked to assign license to any new group as part of new project on-boarding. Please provide patch fix at-least via REST API to solve the issue.
