Issue Summary
After upgrading to Jira Data Center 8.10.x and version 4.1.0 of SSO for Atlassian Server and Data Center, users cannot log in.
Steps to Reproduce
This is based on information from the customer, Jira team was not able to reproduce it
- Have a Jira Data Center 8.9.0 instance with SSO for Jira Data Center 4.0.2.
- Upgrade Jira Data Center to 8.10.0
- Upgrade SSO for Jira Data Center to supported version 4.1.0, which adds support for Just In Time user provisioning
Note: JIT user provisioning is not configured before or after the upgrade.
Expected Results
The upgraded plugin operates as normal, users can log in.
Actual Results
Users cannot log in.
The below exception is thrown in the atlassian-jira.log:

Workaround
Revert to an earlier version of SSO for Jira Data Center. Version 4.0.2 has been known to work as expected and can be downloaded from the app versions page.
