As an administrator I want to have more flexibility when searching archived issues

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Problem Definition

Searching archived issues only allows for the following filters:

      • Archived date
      • Archiver user
      • Project
      • Issue type
      • Reporter

Therefore, it is not possible to perform a text search on the issue's comments, or to search the issue summary or any other field.

      Suggested Solution

Either implement the possibility of adding new columns to the search, or preferrably mimic the current JQL search capabilities as much as possible.

What I really need is a filter for status – we've got people archiving open issues, and a guardrail that says "you can't close anything if it's got open children." Right now we have to export the complete list of archived issues to find the open ones, which is cumbersome.

+1.  I no longer need to work on an old Jira, so I am fine with it being archived.  But occasionally, I need to look up the details of a very old Jira to find out details of its implementation, the approval flow, comments that explain specific coding decisions, etc.  I cannot find the Jira in a search with the way archive searches are currently implemented.

+1 I lose a lot of time trying to find the right JIRA-ID to be able to find my old issues. This needs to be fixed asap

Archived projects should be easy to find and check, but unfortunately they are not at the moment, they have to be restored which allows them to be edited again, the archiving function does not make any sense in the current release

This is a very important feature to have. Sometimes you simply need data from a specific issue that is archived. It does not make sense to enable the entire project just for that particular issue.

We should be able to search by system fields, i.e. summary, description, assignee, etc.

            Hi Team

I would like to inquire about the expected timeline for the implementation of this feature. The ability to search by keywords would be extremely helpful for our team and would greatly enhance our efficiency.

Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated.
