Issue Summary
Project dropdown menu in basic issue search does not respond on Internet Explorer / Edge browsers.
This is reproducible only on instance with larger number of projects (1000 in reproduction scenario).
Steps to Reproduce
- Make sure to have many projects on the instance.
- On a test instance, Jira Data Generator can be used to create projects data automatically.
- Using IE / Edge browser, go to Issues > Search for issues > make sure the Basic search is enabled
- Select "Project: All" dropdown button
Expected Results
The list of projects opens right after clicking the dropdown field.
Actual Results
The list of projects does not open for a long time (or doesn't open at all). After some time, the following warning appears in the browser:
The browser becomes unresponsive. Closing and reopening the browser helps with this.
Workaround
- Use Advanced search mode (JQL) and specify the search query
- Use other browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome, Firefox)
Notes
The issue is not reproducible if the instance does not have many projects.
