Issue Summary
When pasting a screenshot from the clipboard into a comment in text mode using Safari, Jira will display a message stating that the browser is not supported and will fail to attach the file.
Steps to Reproduce
- Take a screenshot. On a Mac, we can use Shift + Control + Command + 3 to take the screenshot into the clipboard.
- Using Safari, add a new comment to an issue. While using text mode, attempt to paste the screenshot present in the clipboard in the comment box.
Expected Results
A pop up will show up with instructions on how to perform these steps, and asking for confirmation for the screenshot to be uploaded.
Actual Results
The pop up will show without the screenshot present in the clipboard. Additionally, another pop up will be present in the top right corner of the screen instructing to use either Firefox or Google Chrome.
Workaround
- Instead of copying the screenshot from the clipboard, save it to a file and drag the file into the comment box.
- Alternatively, use Visual Mode to upload the image. The downside of this method is that it doesn't add the thumbnail tag to the image.
