Deleting AD group does not automatically remove it from the Application Access page

      Issue Summary

Deleting an AD group does not automatically remove it from the Application Access page if you have granted this group with Application Access. Now, when you navigate to Application Access page, you will see the below error:

      Environment

      Jira 8.3.2
      Active Directory

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a group from AD
      2. Sync the group in Jira
      3. Add the group in the Application Access
      4. Remove the group from AD and sync the directory to Jira
      5. Notice that it will be removed from the Jira Groups page
      6. Access the Application Access page

      Expected Results

No error and the group is automatically removed from the Application Access

      Actual Results

An error message is presented and there's no way we can get rid of the error.

      Workaround

      1. Recreate the group from AD
      2. Sync it back to Jira
      3. Remove the group from the Application Access page
      4. Delete the group once again from AD side
      5. Synchronize Jira

This bug also appears on Jira with Atlassian crowd directory.

If we delete some crowd group, and then to go Jira application access page, will see a non-closable error window and unable to configure Jira application access anymore.

Please reevaluate the impact, fix the bug asap. Thanks

We have run into this bug using the Jira Internal Directory. I deleted a group without removing application access first. I was able to add the group back but then I was unable to make subsequent changes to application access via the UI. I can only make them via the api.

Impact: We would not able to add new AD groups (at global level) and even if we add Ad groups at Jira Project level users won't be able to login Jira.

As a workaround, restarting Jira would remove AD groups (deleted) from Application Access page and we can new AD groups.
