    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Perhaps this is more of a Portfolio suggestion, but as an Agile Product Owner, I would like to have the ability to add issues directly to Initiatives or other issue types defined as having child issues. This should operate similar to the way Epics operate today, with a + link that adds issues directly to the current epic.

[JRASERVER-68805] Add the ability to directly create child issues

Still needed please! Right now we can only create child issues in our Epics but would like to be able to do this in our Stories as well for tasks (child issue).

Hey 72e818f12be7, in Story level issues you should use sub-tasks:

            Configure sub-tasks / Atlassian Support

            Regards

            This is still needed. +1

We have a 20,000+ user Jira Data Center instance and have users that would appreciate this functionality.

Also please re-open https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17573 - the related request for Cloud.

Using Jira premium and the new plans feature without being able todo this at a higher level issue (i.e. initiative -> epic -> story) and not being able to add children to the higher level issue directly from the issue view is extremely limiting.. please fix this.  It should be similar to how Epic behaves.

Navigating to the Roadmap, away from the Issue View, to create a child issue for a high-level issue is really unwieldy!

I would love the ability to add child issues for non-Epic parents directly from the Issue View.

            Best,

            Jon

I'd also like to see this functionality - on the issue view page itself.

We're using a Platform Epic (parent of Epic in the hierarchy) to gather Epics together, and then pointing people to the Platform Epic for a quick, overall, summary view of the work that's going on. We attach any needed links and documentation to that top-level issue, so it's a powerful starting point.

If we have to navigate away to the (ever-growing) Roadmap, we have to find that Platform Epic in the hierarchy (it's 3rd level in our hierarchy) in order to add the children. Quite a few extra clicks.

We're using Jira Cloud, rather than Jira Server - is there an issue raised for that platform?

            Take care,

            Karen
