Using the Service Desk Portal, the search on a partial word (substring) works on all fields. The user can select a field and start typing partial words of the preferred value. Jira will displays all the field values which contains the typed characters, independently of the position.

However, when a user is creating or modifying an issue within a Project (Create & Edit Issue Screen), then the search on partial word does NOT work properly. Jira displays only those field values which begins with the partial word that the user has just typed in. This is very inconvinient and generates huge effort to users to find the desired value in a very long list, especially if the user does not know how the value starts but he/she knows partial words.

Jira partial word search needs to be fixed on the Create & Edit Issue Screen.
