Similar to the JQL filter 'startOfWeek' and 'endOfWeek', Jira should have JQL filter for 'last week','this week' and 'next week'.

      Summary

      For more advanced searching, we would like Jira to add filters according to 'Weeks' without having to put date ranges. This would be like the filter 'startOfWeek' or 'endOfWeek'.
