Description
Summary
Using the Rich Text Editor to nest a table within a cell of a parent table does not render properly within Visual mode.
Environment
Occurs with both Jira 7.6 and Jira Service Desk 3.9.6 (GSAC)
Steps to Reproduce
- Create/edit a comment within Visual mode tab.
- Click on the table button within the editor formatting toolbar to insert a table into the comment field.
- Notice pre-entered text within table for header rows and cells, for example, heading 1 ,heading 2,cell A1,cell A2,cell B1,cell B2
- Click within the cell A2 (for example), and then, once again, click on the table button within the editor formatting toolbar to insert a second table nested into the cell.
- Click Add (or for JSD: Share with Customer or Add to issue only
Expected Results
A table is created, with a second, nested table created within one of the cells, as displayed exactly within the Visual mode WYSIWYG render (see Visual editing).
Actual Results
Heading 1 | Heading 2 |
---|---|
Col A1 | Col A2 |
Col B1 | |
Heading 1 | Heading 2 |
Col A1 | Col A2 |
Notice above, instead of a nested table, the content is rendered as a single table within two header rows and a "missing" cell.
Workaround
There is currently no workaround
