The original estimate field when creating an issue gives a format error if you use a floating point number, e.g. I want to put 1.5d for one and a half days.
The description seems to imply that you can do this:

"The format of this is ' *w *d *h *m ' (representing weeks, days, hours and minutes - where * can be any number)"
