      Problem Definition

Current versions of Jira support several database types/versions, however Jira does not currently support MySQL 8.0 per the Supported platforms - Atlassian Documentation. For MySQL, only 5.5 -> 5.7 versions are currently supported.
It would be nice if Jira supported these more recent database versions as well.

      Suggested Solution

Add support for MySQL 8.0 to Jira

      Why this is important

Customers want to utilize updated database platforms.
