Take control + K as an example:

When using the visual text mode -
Edge: Nothing happens
Chrome: Cursor is focused to the navigation menu

Steps to reproduce:
1.) Open a comment within an issue in Jira
2.) Type some text, highlight it, and the hit control + k
3.) Observe that a link is not created. What occurs varies by browser, but is either nothing or focuses the navigation bar.
If done within text mode, it works correctly.
