      Summary

If JIRA has Gravatar access enabled but doesn't have internet access, avatar images will get broken and user names overlap.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Make sure JIRA doesn't have internet access and JIRA has Gravatar enabled
      2. Turn off Gravatar (General Configuration Page)

      Expected Results

Avatar images wouldn't get broken and names wouldn't overlap.

      Actual Results

      • Actual avatar images are broken
      • names overlap on the pages

      Workaround

Turning off Gravatar would revert to default JIRA icons (but it would still make Gravatar unusable).

      Note

      • reproducible on JIRA 7.5.2 and 7.6.1
      • reproducible in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer 11
      • images should be rendered in a different way after they get broken (either set default images or display some kind of message instead of broken avatar image)
