Description
Summary
When Jira uses an external directory an account may become locked for various reasons. Users may not be unaware of this condition and attempt to login to Jira, only receiving username/password incorrect as an error. Understanding this is desired for security considerations this request is to notify Jira administrators when this happens in order to save time investigating why a certain account is unable to log into Jira.
Steps to Reproduce
- Configure a password expiration policy for Active Directory
- User account becomes locked due to expired password
- User attempts to log into Jira, receives user/password incorrect prompt
Desired Results
Jira users are notified in some fashion when this occurs ( email, instant message, support tools plugin, etc )
Actual Results
Jira administrators need to inspect logs to determine this cause
