'Drag n Drop' for issues should not work in Issue navigator list view

      You will receive an email notification with a status change to 'Closed' when version 8.8.0 is available.

      Summary

      'Drag n Drop' for issues should not work in Issue Navigator list view. It should only work for rearranging subtask in issue view.

      Environment

      JIRA 7.6.0

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Navigate to Issue > Search issue > Issue Navigator list view
      2. Drag and Drop any issue to rearrange it.
      3. Refresh the page. It does not has any effect on issue navigator.

      Expected Results

      Drag and drop should not work in Issue Navigator.

      Actual Results

      Rearranging issues in issue navigator works but does not have any effect.

       

      Notes

      Drag and Drop subtask feature was introduced in JIRA 7.6.0.

      Workaround

      It is possible to disable the dragging of subtask through the use of a dark feature. 

      1. Login to Jira as an administrator
      2. Navigate to $JIRAbaseURL /secure/SiteDarkFeatures!default.jspa
      3. add the value of  com.atlassian.jira.issuetable.draggable.disabled to the enable dark feature and click Add

      However this will prevent the dragging of these subtasks both on the issue details page and through the issue navigator.  Note:  In the issue details view you will still see the up and down arrows that can be used to rearrange the order of these subtasks.

            Without the ability to change the rank in list view, how do you determine the relative rank of issues in the backlog compared to issues on your board?  Don't we want to be able to manipulate rank everywhere?

            I know this is an old issue, but if you still are having this and don't want to use the dark features, an only slightly annoying workaround I have been using for years is go to Export/Printable, it turns it into a table view where you can copy as normal.

            Funny enough, that printable page also has some strange quirks.  It maintains the links to the issues, but when you click on them it does nothing, so if you want to view the issues, then go back a page or click the link at the top to go back to the previous view after you have copied from the table.

            In Firefox if you hold down ctrl you can select cells in a table and copy them into a table. In many cases this is a better experience than the csv export when trying to copy a list of issues and fields to share with others. One example is for fields that have more than one value which come as multiple columns that would have to be merged.

            The drag and drop functionality breaks the ability to copy the issues as a table which is a pretty big degradation for some of us, especially if dragging and dropping actually does nothing.

            This was reported by my team.  It is hard for us to say turn off the dragging of sub-tasks though.  Ideally we would like to be able to do both.

            Actually a nice feature for subtasks, but we had to disable the whole thing via dark features too, as it also affected the Issue Navigation/Issue List View and people couldn't copy&paste summaries or ticket numbers out of that view anymore. Too bad.

            Please fix this. We do not realy need to drag issues in the navigator.

            Additionally I noticed, that not all projects are affected. I checked/unchecked projects in issue navigator one by one and some of them do not have this annoying feature.
