    • Type: Bug
    • Resolution: Unresolved
    • Priority: Low
    • None
    • Affects Version/s: 7.3.4, 7.5.0, 7.6.0, 8.16.0, 8.18.1
    • Component/s: Rich Text Editor
    • 7.03

Please note: This behavior is also experienced when using markdown to create an attachment. In that using markdown in text mode to create the attachment inclusion, switching to "visual" mode and editing the text within the markdown, and then switching back to "visual" mode will cause the name of the attachment in the markdown to be removed.

      Summary

      When a user:

      • Creates two external links in text mode
      • Changes back to visual mode and makes an edit
      • Changes back to edit mode

The second link URL will be erased, leaving it as plain text instead of a hyperlink.

       Environment

      • Reported by user in 7.3.4.
      • Confirmed by support in 7.6 w/ pgsql 9.4

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Within a comment, choose text mode and create two links
      2. switch to visual mode and add a letter to the title of the first link
      3. switch to text mode and observe the second link is removed

      Video of issue is attached.

       Expected Results

Link is edited by user in either mode and no links are removed.

      Actual Results

URL is removed from second link.

      Workaround

Use either the Visual or Text modes exclusively when working with links.
