Problem Definition
Currently, JIRA does not provide a built in feature to generate and export usage and growth reports. Administrators have to resort to workarounds, such as verifying JIRA System Info manually or querying the database directly to get such information, and then generate the reports using a separate tool.
Suggested Solution
Implement a feature that allows administrators to get such information in an easy way, generate the reports/charts and export them to common formats.
Why this is important
Having a better way to verify usage and growth and reporting it has several uses, such as:
- Manage licensing
- Track users and customers adoption
- Justify new investments in the application
- Anticipate infrastructure upgrades
- Etc
