Version Report Gadget Never Loads and Ended up Timing Out

      Summary

      Version Report gadget is not loading when there are about 20000 issues in the backlog and 4000 issues in the specific fix version.

      Steps to Replicate

      1. Create a Board filter that will result to approximately 20K issues.
      2. Create a Version and have about 4K issues on this version.
      3. Add the Version Report gadget on the dashboard and select the board filter in Step 1 and Version in Step 2.
      4. Save and view the gadget on the dashboard.

      Expected Result

      The gadget should be displayed and loaded properly.

      Actual Result

      The gadget never loads and ended up with a timeout.

      Workaround

      Increase the timeout by adding the following line to <jira-home>/jira-config.properties:

      • http.connection.timeout = 15000
      • Restart JIRA

            Seems to affect Jira 7.8.4 also. Adding http.connection.timout = 15000 fixed it for now.

            We had this issue in JIRA 7.2.9

            We created a new version with same start and end dates and moved all the issues to new version and verified new version report loads properly and deleted the old version (which has issue).

            Thank you @Daniel Ponzio . The issue got resolved by adding jira-config.properties file in the home directory.

            Jira datacenter 7.12.3.

            We see this intermittently on the Version Report with a board that has only ~3900 issues.

            What are the errors show when the gadget times out? I'm seeing problems for some users but not for other users in 7.2.9 with the Version Report gadget.
