Description
Issue Summary
If a user enters a marked up text in the comment/description fields while the field is set to the Visual mode, JIRA should not mark up the text when it is submitted but rather treat it as a normal text.
For example,
- If the user enters an image markup like
!something.png!
JIRA should not mark this up as an image.
- If a user enters the any of the Wiki Renderer formatted text such as, enclosing a word with asterisks :
*this is a test*
Expected Result
JIRA would show the exact text entered by the user (These examples are character escaped via Text mode):
- !something.png!
- *this is a test*
Actual Result
- JIRA would attempt to markup the text and then show an error:
Unable to render embedded object: File (something.png) not found.
- The second example:
this is a test
Feature Request
While in Visual mode, JIRA should be able to escape characters that are related to text which match the marked up parameters automatically or attempt to load the image and show the error below if the image is not present:
Unable to render embedded object: File (something.png) not found.
When you use the Attach file button in the editor, the image is automatically loaded (it does not show the marked up text though)
