Problem

Attempting to delete a field value from an issue does not work, see attached video: RemoveSprint.mov. In this situation with the Sprint field, users are then unable to properly work/schedule tickets.

Expected Result

• The field value is removed
• Or there is an error/message indicating why it was not

Actual Result

Field value is not updated and there is no indication anywhere as to why it failed. No errors in logs or UI.

Cause

The cause is because the field is shown on multiple tabs within a single screen, see the configuration:

It is not clear how it got into this state, as JIRA prevents an admin from adding the same field to multiple screens. Still, we've received multiple reports of this happening to the "Sprint" and Epic fields.

Resolution

To fix this, remove the Sprint field from both screen tabs and then add it back to the appropriate tab.
