We have a requirement to link to items in Lotus Notes, which we can do using a registry hack and the notes:// protocol. Currently, Jira does not understand this protocol, so does not convert to a hyperlink.

Please could we add notes:// to the list of protocols understood? There are loads of others that might be useful; I'm not sure if they're included at the moment. e.g.

notes://
gopher://
file:///
ftp://

etc...
