(e.g. : eacute appears as a "y" with a dot over it)

I've entered an accented character in the name of a component for an existing project; the name of the component in the project view (/jira/secure/AddComponent.jspa) does not display the eacute, but another non-ASCII character (a "y" with a dot over it). Maybe the http request and/or http response does not specify a content-encoding, or one with a plateform-specific charset (like what Windows tools usually do) ??
