Project Category does not show in Project Summary Activity screen

      Hi everyone,

      We have identified this bug as one with an invalid status. Even though it had been fixed long time ago, its status and Fix Version/s field did not reflect it.

      The fix was revisited and tested. I am then resolving the issue and setting appropriate Fix Version/s . Atlassian will continue to watch this issue should you have any additional questions about this omission.

      Summary

      When a project has a Category associated with it, there should be a section of the Project Summary : Activity screen which shows the Category.

      However, this last worked in JIRA 6.4.x; starting in JIRA 7.0.0 and above, the Category no longer shows in the Project Summary : Activity screen.

      In order to determine the Category, you would need to View All Projects from the Projects drop down menu, which has a column which shows the Category.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. As a project administrator, set a Category in the Project Administration : Summary screen
      2. Navigate to the Project Summary : Activity screen

      Expected Results

      There should be a section which shows the Category in the screen

      Actual Results

      This section is missing.

      Workaround

      In order to determine the Category, you would need to View All Projects from the Projects drop down menu, which has a column which shows the Category.
