Problem Definition
For example, searching for -1d vs -24h in query gives completely different results. However this is not highlighted or explained in our documentation.
- When specifying -1d, it will start calculating on the day when you executed it (which includes today itself if you execute the query now). It does not take into account the amount of time relative to the time you had executed it, ie 24 hours from the time you executed the JQL.
- When specifying -24h, it will start calculating from the hour when you executed it, ie 24 hours from the time you executed the JQL.
Let's assume there is an issue that was transitioned to "Closed" yesterday 3PM, and the query is executed 1PM today:
- status changed to "Closed" after -1d will not return the result but status changed to "Closed" after -2d will
- status changed to "Closed" after -24h will return the result
Suggested Solution
Include a section in Advanced JQL Search documentation to explain the differences.
