Problem Definition

When using their own domain to send notification to JIRA Users, Atlassian Cloud customers need to add an SPF record, with the Cloud ip ranges, to make sure the notifications are not bounced by other email providers.
Having to adjust SPF record every time the ip range is changed is not ideal.

Suggested Solution

Create an SPF DNS entry for the Cloud ip range, for example _cloudrange.atlassian.com. (like _spf.google.com)

This would enable customers to refer to the SPF DNS and avoid the need to adjust their DNS record, when the Cloud ip range is changed.

Workaround

Add the ip range, mentioned in https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/Cloud/Database+and+IP+information, to the SPF record
Adjust the record every time the ip range is adjusted.
