Summary
JIRA 7 Supported platforms documentation still lists multiple tomcat versions
Steps to Reproduce
Currently on
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AdminJIRAServer071/Supported+platforms
and
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AdminJIRAServer070/Supported+platforms
for the listed supported Application servers these documents still list Apache Tomcat 6.x and 7.x versions.
6.0.32
7.0.29
8.0.x*
Notes
I believe that the 6.x and 7.x versions are actually held over from the JIRA 6 and prior documentation where it was possible to have JIRA deployed in a WAR install. In those cases the user would choose the version of tomcat to deploy JIRA to. Since JIRA 7.0, there are no WAR releases, hence you have to run JIRA Server on the version of Tomcat that is supplied with JIRA (8.0.x).
I do not believe there is a need to continue to support those older Tomcat platforms in the JIRA 7 world. As such I think we should adjust these documents and future JIRA 7 docs to reflect this.
