It should be possible to create custom fields for Projects as well as Issues. For example, in my company we'd find it very useful to create fields such as "Brand", "Product Manager", "Customer(s)" (we usually only have one or a few per project), "Platform", and a bunch of others I won't bore you with.

You should also be able to search, create reports and group issues based on these fields.
