Highlighting text and inserting a link in an issue comment produces incorrect link syntax

      Summary

      Highlighting text in an issue comment and then clicking 'Insert Link' (External link) produces a malformed link.

      Environment

      JIRA 7.1.2

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Start writing a comment on an issue
      2. Highlight text within the comment
      3. Click 'Insert Link > External Link'

      Expected Results

      Correctly formed link structure - 

      [link title|https://example.com]

      using text highlighted in place of "link title"

      Actual Results

      Incorrectly formed link structure - [link title]

      Workaround

      Users can unhighlight the text, insert a link, and then replace the text appropriately
