NotSerializableException in 3.0.3 under JBoss 4.0

      JBoss 4.0 on RH Linux

      I am upgrading from Jira 2.1.6 to 3.0.3 and I am now getting a NotSerializableException during startup. I have seen in the mail list that in general this is a know problem, but I have only found Tomcat specific workarounds. How do I get rid of these in jboss 4.0?
