It would be nice if you were allowed arbitrary (or at least more than 2) levels of tasks/sub-tasks. Within a release, the high-level tasks are usually too big to be represented by one level of sub-tasks.

Having more levels would allow JIRA to serve as a project scheduler, and allow users to track all the sub-tasks down to a managable level.
