The issue security functionality is a great way to create issues that cannot be seen by all users.

The same functionality on custom fields would be extremely powerful. We often create issues than can be seen by both our company and our customers. Today we cannot enter information on the issues that is hidden from the customers. This feature is highly requested.

I suggest you consider implementing field security on each field (via the field scheme) like it is possible on an issue.
