      Hi everyone,

Thank you for all your votes and comments on this suggestion. We realise it took us long to update the status of this suggestion - thank you for your patience.

We're excited to announce that we've shipped JMX monitoring in Jira Software 7.6.0. We started by exposing the size metrics of the instance including number of users, issues or custom fields. All information about our current JMX implementation are available in documentation.

We believe that this important change will help Jira adminis to respond to potential issues before they become a problem for their users.

We realise that basic JMX metrics do not cover the full scope of this suggestion, this is why we leave this ticket open. Right now we will be investigating the exposure of performance metrics through JMX and will notify you as soon as we have any update on this.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions and feedback.

      Thank you,
      Grażyna Kaszkur
      Product Manager, Jira Server

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Viewing JIRAs Instrumentation Statistics describes instrumentation that available in JIRA 6. I understand even more instrumentation is available in JIRA 7.

We require this instrumentation be available through programmatic means, ideally through JMX as it is a standard for accessing metrics in JAVA applications and we can use some common infrastructure for monitoring and tracking metrics.

Similar to what is available in BitBucket: Enabling JMX Counters for Performance Monitoring and in Confluence: Live Monitoing Using the JMX Interface
