Summary
I am unable to edit existing comments in a JIRA 7 Service Desk ticket, with the error "Failed to attach files ... You do not have permission to create attachments for this issue."
I'm logged in as the JIRA Administrator, am the Project Owner/lead, and am trying to edit a comment I just added (which I can also delete).
Steps to reproduce
- Setup fresh Jira instance with Service Desk
- Use administrator user
- Create Service Desk project
- Revoke "Create Attachments" permission from administrator user for created project
- Go to Permission Scheme for created project
- Remove "Create Attachments" permissions for every role
- Create issue in created project
- Create comment in created issue
- Edit created comment
Expected behaviour
Comment is edited
Actual behaviour
"Failed to attach files" error blocks comment edit.
Workarounds
- Create new comment with corrented content and remove old one.
- Add "Create Attachments" permission for the user
