There is no method to manage user status when "Manage User Status Locally" is enabled in a JIRA User Directory. This causes problems where a user in JIRA is inactive and cannot be made active in JIRA or in the remote directory.
Example:
- Test user is disabled in remote directory
- Add new User Directory to JIRA with "Manage User Status Locally" selected
- After first full synchronization, test user appears in JIRA and is inactive
- Note there is no method to make this user active
- Make user active in remote directory
- Initiate synchronization of user directory
- User remains inactive
- This applies to both full and incremental synchronizations
To make user active and to make all user status controlled by remote directory:
- Edit User Directory to disable "Manage User Status Locally"
- Save User Directory configuration
- Click Synchronize to initiate synchronization
- User status will now be controlled by remote directory
Tested with Active Directory Connector in JIRA 6.3.14, 6.4.7, and 7.0.0
