Summary
Could not close tickets as the user didn't have the transition issue permission.
Didn't also get any notification from the Permission Helper nor Workflow to show that he lacked a specific permission.
Would appreciate if interdependent permissions are checked when a user runs permission helper that shows a warning that they do not have a dependent permission to achieve the permission they are verifying.
Steps to Reproduce
- Remove a user from transition permission in JIRA.
- Ensure the user has Close Issue Permission.
- Attempt to close issue which the user has permission for.
- Result: You would not have the close button hence cannot close the issue*
- Checking the Close Issue permission with permission helper would show that you have the needed permission to close the issue without showing that the dependent transition issue permission is missing which can be misleading.
Moving Forward
- Add a check to all dependent permissions that shows that a user does not have a permission to do a specific action because they are lacking the dependent permission and then return a warning to the customer telling them they lack that permission.
