Let's assume this use case scenario
- Create an issue with Original Estimate of 5h
- Log work of 1h, and the Remaining Estimate will automatically be calculated to be 4h
- Edit the issue and change the Original Estimate to 8h
- Leave Remaining Estimate value as is and proceed with Edit
You will see that Original Estimate is changed to 8h, Time Spent still maintains at 1h, but Remaining Estimate also maintains at 4h (doesn't auto recalculate to 7h)
As a manager, it is tedious to have to manually count the Remaining Estimate every time we want to update the Original Estimate. We would preferably just edit the Original Estimate, such that the Remaining Estimate will be automatically calculated.
