      The old XML-RPC API provided a method for getting the list of suggested labels using the endpoint: /rest/api/1.0/labels/suggest

      This API is very useful for clients to provide feedback to users and keep the set of used labels consistent.

      According to the deprecation notice for the XML-RPC and SOAP APIs it looks like this endpoint will not be supported in JIRA 7.0. I don't see it in the current Javadoc for the SOAP API that is targeted for migration.

      Given that the JIRA OnDemand web UI uses this deprecated call too I suggest it be announced as officially supported in JIRA 7.0.
