Symptom

• Activity Stream throws 'No activity was found' all the time

Diagnosis

• JIRA running behind Ngin-x proxy, once the Ngin-x proxy is disabled or bypassed, the Activity Stream works correctly
• Response header "Content-Encoding" will be empty

Root Cause

• Activity Stream has Content-Encoding header set to empty value and this is against the RFC 7231

Workaround

• Disabling GZIP of mime type "application/atom+xml" in the Ngin-x proxy configuration will avoid this problem.
