Description
Date time information in JIRA does not include time zone information when connected to MySQL.
Consequently, if the customer changes time zone, or if a server is moved to another timezone (e.g. from UTC to UTC-6), then all the dates prior to the change will be different in spite of the time zone settings in JIRA (in the prior example, all dates would be 6 hours in the future).
Although this is a limitation from MySQL, since we do support this database, we should ensure time zone information is properly stored even when customers have to change their time zones, as this is a very common scenario for multinational companies and daylight saving countries.
A possible alternative to address this (as per this article would be to store all times on MySQL DATETIME columns in UTC and apply the time zone according to JIRA's and the users time zone settings. However, I am not sure if this is feasible to be implemented above the OfBiz layer.
