    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Currently, our Starting a Sprint documentation states:

You will need to have the JIRA 'Administer Projects' permission in the project(s) whose issues are to be included in the new sprint. This means that if your board includes issues from multiple projects, you need to have the 'Administer Projects' permission in each of those projects.

This can cause confusion, as the behavior is that the user must be a project administrator of all projects included in the board - independent to which issues are being added to the sprint. Hence, I'm changing the above note to:

You will need to have the JIRA 'Administer Projects' permission in the project(s) included in the board. This means that if your board includes issues from multiple projects, you need to have the 'Administer Projects' permission in each of those projects.
