    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

We use an agile development methodology and continuous integration, which can produce new builds as often as once an hour. It would be very useful to be able to track bugs on a per-build basis, rather than just by version, which is nowhere near the level of granularity that we would like (often a couple of hundred builds per version release). However, since currently a new version must be created by hand, we can't afford to do this for each build number. A web service that we could call to create a new version for a project would allow us to add this version to Jira as part of our build script. Then QA would know which issues it could expect to see finished based on the build number that we've given them, rather than them having to search through bugs to find out that information.
