Our customers want to see two things in a release note:

• what has changed (done)
• what is still broken

The Release Note should have the ability to show all unresolved defects in the current release (even if they are fixed in a later release). This would need to include defects raised against earlier (but not later) releases.

Normally you would not want to include other types of unresolved items (eg: changes). This could be done by choosing which unresolved issue types to include.
