Renaming a Custom Field, filters will stop working.

      When you have some filters applying to a Custom Field, and then you decide to rename this Custom Fields, all the filters will stop working complaining that the Custom Field does not exist.

      Expected Behaviour:

      The filters should continue working after renaming the Custom Field

            Hi psouza,

            This is a long-known limitation in JIRA. Unfortunately, if renaming a custom field you will need to replace any references to it in saved filters.

            Due to the way the references to these custom fields are stored in the saved query for the filter it's not feasible for JIRA to automatically correct all references whenever the administrator renames the field.

            Consequently, I will proceed to close this issue as "Won't fix", as we will not be able to provide a solution for this any time soon.
