If I type something into a field, then try to navigate to a different page without processing the data, JIRA helpfully pops up a Confirm Navigation dialog that makes sure that I really did mean to trash that info.
Unfortunately it also does this for the login form (when JIRA is not using an external authentication system). Since many browsers (eg. Chrome, Opera) will pre-fill values in the username / password fields without user interaction, this becomes particularly noticeable.
How to reproduce:
- Log into JIRA instance and save the password when prompted by the browser.
- Log out and revisit the login page.
- Close the tab without changing any of the input fields.
or more simply:
- Go to JIRA instance login page and enter some text in one of the fields
- Close the tab
Actual result: The "Confirm Navigation" dialog is shown.
Expected result: The tab should close without showing the "Confirm Navigation", since there is no valuable information to be lost.
