NOTE: This bug report is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.
I've just used the Send-Email function for the first time, and been bitterly disappointed.
I typed out an important message for JIRA users and sent it as HTML, only to discover that it stripped out all of my paragraph breaks, making the email effectively unreadable. I've had to send out another copy of the message using <br/> tags.
After seeing the HTML format did not work correctly, I tried sending a plain-text test email to myself, and for that one JIRA simply sent all of the XHTML markup as plaintext, for even more unreadable garbage!
So please:
1. Retain line breaks in HTML mode.
2. Fix plain-text mode to actually send the plain-text entered by the user, not plain-text of the entire email form.
